The couch roll, originally referred to as the roller at the end of the working section of the forming wire where the web of the forming wire is removed, is also the driving roller to drive the forming wire. Couch roll forms a pair of extruded dewatering elements with a net cage or a net drum and carries the web layer away by the wet blanket.
